HISTORY AND MISSION

Founded in 2012 by sisters Ina and Rositsa Paunovi, the Rosey’s Mark brand follows the aromatic footsteps of the Bulgarian oil-bearing rose to reveal its secrets as an edible flower. As the first and only brand dedicated exclusively to the role of the rose in food, Rosey’s Mark creates the concept of “Floral Gastronomy from Bulgaria”.

Based on over 10 years of experience, today Rosey’s Mark’s mission is to unfold and popularize the role of roses in food not only as an interesting floral flavor, but also in the context of functional nutrition.

With a deeper look at the Bulgarian damask rose as an active nutritional ingredient, Rosey’s Mark products focus on various functional benefits related to the daily challenges of our time – stress, digestion, immune system, beauty and aging. And in the most sustainable and non-invasive way we can think of – by introducing rose into daily eating habits.

SUSTAINABILITY AND ECOSYSTEM

At Rosey’s Mark, we believe that true taste comes from a responsible attitude towards nature. We work with local producers of Bulgarian damask rose, support traditional agriculture, and use sustainable practices that are kind to the environment.

THE MOST PRECIOUS ROSE IN THE WORLD

It is not just our opinion. In the world of essential oils, the Bulgarian rose damascena is a proven and established standard for the highest quality. This is due to the unique and non-replicable biochemical composition of the Bulgarian rose oil, proven in the laboratory with each annual harvest. It is no coincidence that the Bulgarian rose oil has been registered with a “Protected Geographical Indication” by the European Commission, just like the Italian Parmigiano cheese and the Fresco champagne.

We say a big thank you to nature, which has gathered in the Bulgarian Rose Valley the necessary unique mix of climate, soil, air currents, altitude, in short, the most favorable conditions for the rose damascena, without analogues anywhere else in the world.

ROSE PRODUCTION ECOSYSTEM IN BULGARIA

Natural resources combined with several centuries of experience make Bulgaria a leader and expert in rose production and rose processing on a global scale. This niche and specific industry is key and emblematic for Bulgaria.

Our country is the only producer of rose oil in the European Union and among the few in the world. Therefore, our natural wealth, the rose, and its related industry need strategic management and targeted policies for sustainability. As well as the creation of high added value end products here in Bulgaria, the homeland of the highest quality rose.

EDIBLE ROSE FOUNDATION

Along with our work on building a brand for rose-based food products, we have come to know the specifics and challenges of the local ecosystem well.

We have also confirmed the need for a long-term strategy for the preservation and development of the Bulgarian rose, as well as for investments in additional development of the biochemical activity and beneficial properties of Rosa damascena and its derivatives – rose flower, rose water and rose oil.

To support the sustainable future of the Bulgarian rose and its potential as a functional ingredient in food, we have created the Edible Rose Foundation, through which we seek intersections between business and science.

In connection with the goals of the foundation, we allocate 3% of the annual profit of Rosey’s Mark for scientific and development activities related to the beneficial properties of the rose.
