The cocktail: Peppery Rose

In the middle of summer, at the end of a long hot day, we need freshness and a way to cool off. That’s why we have prepared for you just the right cocktail to achieve those goals. It combines the floral taste of roses, slight grapefruit bitterness and delicate black pepper spicy touch. The combination had already gained fans while we were testing the recipe. That’s why we truly recommend you try your barman skills at home with this cocktail.

The base of “Peppery Rose” is rose-infused vodka. This is one of the most glamorous ways you can use your loose rose tea during summer. To prepare rose-infused vodka for 4-5 cocktails, mix 2 table spoons of dried rose blossom with 250 ml vodka in a glass jar. Leave in fridge overnight shaking the jar occasionally. On the next evening you will be ready to mix some cocktails!

Ingredients

For the rose-infused vodka:

For the cocktail:

  • 50 ml rose-infused vodka
  • 30 ml simple syrup with black pepper
  • 50 ml grapefruit juice
  • 100 ml tonic water

Before you start mixing the cocktails you need one more thing – the peppered simple syrup. To prepare it, mix water and sugar in proportion 1:1, heat it and stir till sugar has dissolved. Add some freshly ground black pepper, stir and let cool.

In a glass with ice, pour the rose-infused vodka, the peppered simple syrup, the gapefruit juice and the tonic water. Stir and serve with short straws. If you have a nice blossoming rose bush around, you can use a couple of rose petals to decorate.

Serve on sunset and enjoy the summer evening in a good company…
