Roasted grapefruit with rose water

Desserts are the first category of dishes that everyone thinks of when we mention roses in food. It’s true, the floral rose flavour goes well with all kinds of sweet treats, and the rose-infused dessert recipes we’ve featured on the blog so far are varied and each one more tempting than the rest. Today, however, we’re bringing you something different—how one grapefruit can turn into a surprisingly satisfying dessert. Yes, just a grapefruit, plus honey and rose water.
Aside from being super quick and downright easy to make, this recipe is a great idea for anyone on a special diet who craves for a proper dessert, but something about the classic ingredients of most pastries – flour, eggs, milk, sugar – is off the list with permitted things to consume. I’ve been there too, and honestly, I know how hard it can be.
But let’s be clear, you don’t need to be on an elimination diet to indulge in this roasted grapefruit. This dessert is a real jewel for every occasion and taste, as well as a great way to unwind after the Easter binge, for example. And if you, like us, are among the lovers of the seasonal detox practices, which we talk about in this article on spring detox and how damask rose can help, be sure to save this recipe and include it in your detox menu. Here’s how easy it is:
